1. Plan a Summer Garden Party

What you'll need: Paper, pens, and imagination
How to:
Let your child plan their dream garden party — they can design invitations, plan games (like musical statues or scavenger hunts), and help bake treats to serve. Set up a blanket in the garden and invite teddies or siblings!

How to:

3. Make a Fruity Fan Craft

How to:
Print the fan template on card, colour it in, and fold it accordion-style. Attach a wooden lollipop stick to each end for a fun fruity fan that actually works!

4. Make Ice Cream Sandwiches (The Easy Way!)
Perfect for: Ages 5+ with supervision
What you'll need: Ice cream, homemade or shop-bought biscuits
How to:
Slice a tub of ice cream into rounds using a large knife (parents only), then use a biscuit cutter or knife to cut into circles. Sandwich between two biscuits and roll in sprinkles if you fancy. Refreeze for 20 mins before serving.

5. Make Sweetie or Cereal Necklaces

What you'll need: Cheerios, ring-shaped sweets, strawberry laces or thick thread
How to:
Tie a knot in one end of the lace or string, then thread on cereal and sweets. Talk about colour patterns and counting as they go. Tie a knot when finished and wear as a snackable necklace!

6. Go on a Bug Hunt + Colour Your Finds
Perfect for: Ages 3–8
What you'll need: Magnifying glass, bucket or jam jar, our printable bug sheet
How to:
Head outside and search for creepy crawlies under stones, leaves or flower pots. Observe and gently catch (and release) bugs like ladybirds, ants or worms. Back indoors, colour them in on our spotting sheet.

7. Camp Out in the Garden + Make Air Fryer S’mores
Perfect for: Ages 5–10
What you'll need: Tent or blanket fort, torch, biscuits, chocolate, marshmallows
How to:
Set up a tent or cosy fort outdoors (or indoors!). Toast marshmallows over a campfire or use an air fryer: assemble a biscuit base, chocolate square, and marshmallow – air fry for 2 mins at 180°C. Top with a second biscuit.

8. Create a Mini Lemonade Stand or Ice cream shop

What you'll need: Lemons, sugar, jug, paper cups, cardboard box for the stall
How to:
Help your child make fresh lemonade (lemons, sugar, water), decorate a cardboard box as a stand, and invite family to visit their “shop”. Add price tags and menus for English or maths practice!
9. Make a Summer Scrapbook

What you'll need: Notebook or stapled paper, pens, ticket stubs, photos
How to:
Encourage your child to collect memories from their summer — a leaf from a walk, a ticket from the cinema, a photo from a picnic.They can draw, write or stick in things that remind them of fun days. How to:
