Apple Grin Bites Recipe - SNACKTIVITY: DAY 9 OF 28

🕒 Ready in 10 minutes
(5 minutes prep · 5 minutes fun)

These Apple Grin Bites are just the kind of cheeky snack every little one loves — silly, smiley, and packed with peanut butter goodness! They’re quick to prep, delightfully fun to decorate, and brilliant for encouraging healthy-ish snacking in a playful way.

Perfect for Halloween parties, funny food moments, or simply adding some laughter to lunchboxes!

😁 Ingredients

  • 1 apple (any variety you like!)

  • Peanut butter (or use cream cheese or Biscoff as an alternative)

  • Mini marshmallows

  • A chopping board and child-safe knife

🍏 Method

1. Slice the Apple
Ask a grown-up to help slice the apple into thin wedges. You'll need two slices per grin.

2. Spread the Peanut Butter
Spread a little peanut butter on one side of each slice. This will be the glue!

3. Add the Teeth
Line one slice with mini marshmallows to create a row of teeth. Add as many or as few as you like – snaggle-tooths encouraged!

4. Close the Smile
Top with a second apple slice (spread side down) to complete your silly smile.

5. Chomp It Down!
Pull a funny face, show off your apple grin… then gobble it up!

🍎 Serving Suggestions

  • Serve as part of a themed snack board for playdates or parties.

  • Add eyes made of raisins or edible candy for an extra character boost.

  • Pair with a fruity smoothie for a full-on feel-good snack time.

🔄 Easy Variations

  • Allergy-friendly: Use sunflower seed butter or a dairy-free spread.

  • Different teeth: Try white chocolate buttons or banana slices for a twist.

  • Halloween vibes: Use red jam for spooky ‘bloody’ grins!

🙋 FAQs

Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes – just brush the apples with lemon juice to stop them browning and store in an airtight container.

What age is this snack good for?
Great for ages 3+ with supervision – mini marshmallows can be a choking hazard for toddlers, so always cut to age-appropriate size.

Can I get the kids involved?
Absolutely! It’s a brilliant hands-on snack that gets them giggling and engaged.

💡 Tip

Make a "Smile Station" with different spreads and fillings so each child can build their own silly snack. Great for parties or rainy-day boredom busters!
