It’s the jazziest twist on a childhood classic!
These Chocolate Jazzie Strawberries are part sweet treat, part crafting fun. They're ideal for sunny afternoons, rainy-day pick-me-ups, or even party prep with your little sous chefs. Think chocolate-dipped strawberries with the added crunch and colour of jazzie sprinkles!
Ingredients
-
🍓 Fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
-
🍫 A bar of chocolate (milk, white or dark – your pick!)
-
🌈 Jazzie sprinkles (also known as rainbow nonpareils)
-
🧻 Baking paper or a large plate for setting
-
🧷 Toothpicks or skewers (optional, but great for small hands)
Method
-
Prep your berries:
Make sure your strawberries are completely dry—this helps the chocolate stick better. -
Melt your chocolate:
Break the chocolate into chunks and melt it slowly.-
Microwave: Heat in short 20-second bursts, stirring between each.
-
Hob: Use a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water (don’t let the bowl touch the water).
-
-
Dip & sprinkle:
-
Dip each strawberry halfway into the melted chocolate.
-
Either roll the dipped end in a bowl of jazzie sprinkles or sprinkle them by hand (less mess and more fun for fine motor skills!).
-
-
Let them set:
Place on a lined tray or plate and pop them in the fridge to chill for 10–15 minutes. -
Snack or share:
Enjoy straight from the plate or make a fruity bouquet by sticking them into half a melon or foam base.
Serving Suggestions
-
Serve with a mix of plain and jazzie-dipped berries for colour contrast
-
Pair with a glass of milk or a fruit smoothie for a party snack
-
Use as edible table decorations for birthdays or playdates!
Storage Tips
Best eaten the same day, but you can store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Just note that condensation may soften the chocolate coating.
Easy Variations
-
🍌 Use banana slices or melon cubes instead of strawberries
-
🍥 Try with white chocolate and pastel sprinkles for an extra soft look
-
🌱 Add a sprinkle of edible glitter for birthday party sparkle
FAQs
Can I use frozen strawberries?
Fresh is best—frozen ones release too much moisture and the chocolate won’t stick properly.
What if I don’t have jazzie sprinkles?
Crushed nuts, desiccated coconut, or mini chocolate chips are all fun alternatives!
Can toddlers help?
Absolutely! Use toothpicks or skewers to make dipping easier and safer for little fingers.
Tip
🧼 Use a muffin tin to organise sprinkles, skewers and berries—it makes tidying up a breeze!
