They’re easy enough for kids to make (with a bit of grown-up help!).
These little frozen bombs are a total ka-boom of joy 🍫💥
🍡 Ingredients
-
Rice Krispie treats (homemade or shop-bought)
-
A scoop of ice cream (any flavour – we love cookies & cream!)
-
Chocolate spread (like Nutella or Biscoff)
-
A spoon and plate
-
Freezer-safe tray
-
Baking paper
🍫 Method
1. Make the Bases
Flatten a spoonful of Rice Krispie treat into a square using your hands or a rolling pin.
2. Add the Ice Cream
Place a small scoop of ice cream right in the centre of your square.
3. Seal It Up
Gently press the edges of the Krispie square together to fully seal in the ice cream. You’re making a little frozen surprise parcel!
4. Dip in Chocolate
Slightly warm your chocolate spread until pourable, then spoon or dip it over the top of your treat.
5. Freeze
Pop the chocolate-dipped bombs onto baking paper on a tray, and freeze for 1–2 hours until firm.
6. Enjoy Cold
Once frozen solid, bite into your Rice Bomb Treat for a crunchy outside and creamy centre. Bliss!

🙋 FAQs
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! You can make them the night before and store in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 days.
Can kids make these?
Absolutely – kids can shape and seal the treats and help dip them. Just have a grown-up on hand for the chocolate melting and freezer steps.
What if I don’t have chocolate spread?
Melted chocolate chips work just as well – just let them cool slightly before dipping.
💡 Tip
Work quickly when adding ice cream to avoid melting! If you're making a batch, keep your scoops in the freezer and pull them out one at a time as you assemble.
